Staying calm amidst the madness
Noise is like ripples of water. It could be an actual sound, or a remembrance of an experience. The internal dialogue can continue on and on. Even getting up before the world wakes, a morning meditation may have a screech of an owl. Afternoon the neighbors come out with the mowers and buzzers. This happens usually as soon as I take five on the chaise lounge for a moment of rest after digging the garden.
Surrender to the Interruption
The noise will be there, but the noise doesn’t need to penetrate the deepest depths of the centered mind. Bring the thoughts to a level where the noise that annoys is someplace distant, blended but not prominent. Root down and reach up. This day I opened the eyes to the sky and saw an eagle flying above. An auspicious omen of letting the noise go.
