Marsh View

I’d like to say, “some things never change” and for the past 60 years I can almost say that about the salt marsh. The marsh is where the earth breathes. A connection between the salt and the fresh. Opposites mixing, allowing life a chance at survival.

In choosing art for the upcoming show at Studio6Central, I had several directions in art selection. I could display some graphics, logos, or my more political artworks. I could say something about social unrest, deadly viruses, or our kakistocracy. Instead I chose pretty little pictures. Where, I’ve been told, have embraced the cheap effects of the Photoshop filters.

Out of the repertoire of photographic subject matter (which can be seen at photogeoia.com), I went for the marshes. A visual remembrance of places that human activity hasn’t changed much, that is, if you don’t look too deep. Recently life has pummeled us with one human crises after another, but there is still much work to be done with greater importance.
